The little town with the big heart has made its mark on the big city once again after Sacred Heart Primary School Boggabri’s relay team brought home gold medals from the NSWCPS Swimming Championships in Sydney on Tuesday, March 22.

The team was victorious at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in the Peter Dobson small schools mixed 4×50 relay event.

The team had to overcome an early obstacle after there was a slight hiccup prior to the race as Coen Gough pulled out due to injury.

Oscar Thomson stepped up to join the team, which included Evie Watt, Xanthia Watson and Felicity Gough.

With the support of the whole school and their parents cheering them on from Boggabri, they brought home the gold medal.

Sacred Heart has a strong tradition of competing at this event and the school community is very proud of its swimmers.

The team has qualified to compete in the event at the 2022 NSWPSSA Swimming Championships, which will be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Tuesday, April 5.
