Lisa Pillar, Berice Eather, Gloria Campey and Carolynne Tomlinson are the Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s Fours champions for 2022 after they won last Thursday’s decider by two shots.

They were victorious 20 points to 18 in the final against the team of Jan Etheridge, Sue Solomon, Kay Carolan and Mary Wheeler after the match concluded with a thrilling finish.

Pillar, Eather, Campey and Tomlinson led five shots to none after two ends of play, and despite losing five of the next seven ends, led eight shots to six after nine.

The eventual champions extended that lead to six points after earning four shots to nothing across the next two ends.

However, Wheeler’s team ensured that it remained in the contest as it scored six unanswered shots across the next three ends to level the score at 12-all after 14.

Pillar, Eather, Campey and Tomlinson went ahead 16 shots to 12 after scoring a two on the 15th end and then another two on the 16th, before Wheeler’s team hit back with a three on the 17th and a two on the 18th to take the lead for the first time in the game as the scoreboard read 17-16.

The two sides then scored a shot each as Wheeler’s team went into the 21st and final end with an 18 shots to 17 lead. However, Pillar, Eather, Campey and Tomlinson then scored a three on the last end to win 20-18.
