Moving Anzac Day assembly held at Narrabri Public School

Narrabri Public School conducted a moving Anzac Day Service assembly on Friday, April 8, attended by Narrabri RSL sub-branch president Gary Mason, OAM.

Mr Mason has held the sub-branch president’s position since 2017. He addressed the children, teachers, parents and carers with his stories of war-torn years, conveying the experiences, comradery, and heroship to his audience.

The Last Post was played by Ben Taylor, school captains Riley Sparrow and Grace Lennox addressed the crowd and ceremoniously laid the school wreath. A poem titled ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon was beautifully read by students Joe Brown and Cadence Anderson.

The message of the poem is that soldiers who died fighting for their country and did so bravely, are going to live on forever in the sky as metaphorical stars. They are never going to be forgotten.
