Nine candidates will contest the federal election for the seat of Parkes at the May 21 poll.

The nominations for candidates closed last week and the ballot paper order was drawn.

Candidates in drawn order are Derek Hardman (Indigenous – Aboriginal Party of Australia), Peter Rothwell (Liberal Democratic Party), Deborah Swinbourn (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Mark Coulton (National Party of Australia), Petrus Van Der Steen (United Australia Party), Stuart Howe (independent), Jack Ayoub (Australian Labor Party), Trish Frail (The Greens) and Benjamin Fox (Informed Medical Options Party).

The electorate is currently held by the National Party’s Mark Coulton who is seeking a sixth term at representing Parkes in the House of Representatives.

An early voting centre for the poll will be held at the Narrabri Aquatic Centre multi-purpose room from Monday, May 16, to Friday, May 20.

On election day, May 21, polling booths will be held at Narrabri Public School, Nurruby OOSH, Narrabri West Anglican Church Hall, Bellata War Memorial Hall, Wee Waa Public School, Burren Junction Public School, Pilliga Public School, Baan Baa Community Hall and Boggabri Public School.
