Two new police officers have been welcomed to the Narrabri command, fresh from their attestation at the police academy in Goulburn.

Probationary Constables Brad Troughton and Bryce Noble, both from Sydney, are among the newest academy graduates to be deployed across NSW and will call Narrabri home as they learn the ropes of policing.

For Probationary Constable Noble, serving as a police officer has long been an ambition in life.

“It was always something I wanted to do,” he said.

He said the role of being a police officer appealed to him, particularly the function of helping the community.

“I knew from a young age,” he said of wanting to join the force.

Family members have also served in law enforcement.

Fresh out of school, Probationary Constable Noble studied criminology at university before entering the force.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know the community,” he said.

Probationary Constable Troughton initially worked as a mechanic, however, decided he wanted a job with more satisfaction.

“I’ve always enjoyed helping people since I was younger,” he said.

Naturally, a career in policing seemed the natural fit.

Both new officers are looking forward to spending time in Narrabri while on general duties.

Chief Inspector Robert Dunn welcomed the two new Probationary Constables to the command and was confident they will be a great addition to the Narrabri command.

“It is always exciting to welcome new graduates to the police force,” Chief Inspector Dunn said.

“Narrabri is full of wonderful people, and I hope Probationary Constables Troughton and Noble enjoy their time here.”

Following the graduation of 150 new constables recently, Deputy Premier and Minister for Police Paul Toole said a career in policing was ideal for anyone looking to make a difference in their community.

“They will join almost 18,000 other men and women in blue working as part of a world-class modern police force to drive down crime rates and protect the community,” he said.

“NSW Police is actively recruiting as part of its ‘You should be a cop’ campaign, and I encourage anyone looking for new opportunities to give it a go.”
