Winner of the Whitehaven Coal Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards’ ‘Medical and Health Related Services’ category, the Maitland Street Medical Centre has been a welcome arrival in recent years for the Narrabri community.
Dr Navin is a GP obstetrician of more than 18 years in rural locations throughout Australia. Dr Navin has worked in various remote hospitals across Victoria, Queensland, NT, WA and NSW. In 2017 while based in Wee Waa, Dr Navin realised his passion for helping people in the country and began his dream of opening his own practice in the country. He recognised the shortage of general practitioners in Narrabri, and this became the location for his practice. After three years in Narrabri, Dr Navin is proud to call himself a true country doctor.
Resident practice nurses Jeana Bautista and Grace Hopcroft administer vaccinations and have a keen interest in children’s health and development, immunisation and chronic disease prevention and management and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
Behind the reception is Lacinda Regan and Kimberley Davis, who have a combined 20 years’ experience in the medical reception field.
Dr Navin says: “It is a privilege for our medical centre to have been nominated and a great honour to have accepted the award. We are pleased to be able to provide much-needed medical services to Narrabri and are excited to reveal that we will be expanding our service in the near future”.
