Local soccer club Narrabri Eleven FC hosted its annual general meeting at the Tattersall’s Hotel, Narrabri, on Saturday evening.
Outgoing president Chloe Myers chaired the meeting and thanked everyone involved with the club for another enjoyable season.
Myers and her partner Josh Boyd, who was one of the club’s coaches this year, have both stepped down from their roles following the birth of their first child earlier this year.
Stepping into the president’s role is Phoebe Schwager. Schwager, who was the secretary of the club in 2022, told The Courier that she was excited to make the step up for the next year.
Schwager currently heads a five-person committee that also includes Chris Simmonds, Brad Cornall, Tyler Allen and Riley Longworth.
Following a year away from the club, Simmonds returns as vice-president for the 2023 season, and Cornall has stepped up from a general committee position to the role of treasurer.
Longworth and Allen are the club’s general committee members.
Schwager said that she hoped that more Elevens players and supporters would join the committee to help the club move forward and be successful next year.
A committee meeting will be held in the coming months, at which anyone is invited to attend and put their hand up for a committee position.
The most important task at hand for the club is filling the secretary role, which was left vacant following the annual general meeting.
Anyone interested in coaching the club’s first and/or reserve grade teams in 2023 are also encouraged to get in contact with the club or attend the next committee meeting.
Players are also encouraged to get in contact with the club.
