Namoi Valley Christian School students who were unable to travel to Wee Waa due to major flooding embraced remote learning to continue their studies.

Thrive Church in Narrabri was a temporary classroom for 26 students who usually travel to Wee Waa to attend the school.

Teachers who were also unable to travel to the school formed part of the remote learning set-up in Narrabri.

The temporary arrangement came into place on October 21 and continued all of last week while the town was inaccessible.

Pastor Travis Lyons, of the Thrive Church, said the students had occupied two rooms at the Maitland Street church and used a nearby oval.

“Because it has happened at other times, we were prepared now,” he said of the flood.

“We did this last year with the November flood.”
