Boggabri Hospital Auxiliary, like many other organisations, has been in limbo due to COVID-19 restrictions.

During the past two months, the newly-elected executive has been busy communicating with our regional and state representatives, complying with legal and financial requirements, encouraging new members as well as recognising long-term volunteers.

At the November meeting, regional representative for New England Zone, Sally Cronberger and deputy regional representative Vicki McIvor updated the members on the recent state conference, the importance of safe keeping of volunteer collector cards, documenting volunteer service, banking requirements, health service donations and fundraising ideas.

However, the most exciting part of the meeting came at the end of the meeting when ten members received long service badges and certificates.

Ellen Eather, 60 years badge and certificate, Ellen also received and thank you letter and garden ornament for her contribution to the association as treasurer for the past 40 years.

Cheryl Shields followed closely in her mother’s footsteps by receiving 40 years badge and certificate.

Elia Pratley and Colleen Scott received 30 years badges and certificates.

Margaret McKenzie 20 years badge and certificate, Beris Laylim and Nellie Lincoln 10-year badges and certificates.

Del O’Connell and Robyn Grover, certificates of appreciation for extensive years of service and Jo-Anne Tailby certificate of appreciation for extensive fundraising by a non-member of the auxiliary for a period greater than six years.

A celebratory afternoon tea was enjoyed by all present.
