Founding member of the Namoi Dragons and breast cancer survivor Karen Kirkby is travelling to Melbourne this week to compete in Saturday’s Pink Paddle Power 2022 Regatta.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the benefits of dragon boating for breast cancer survivors.
Dr Kirkby will join the Pendragons team, which she paddled with in her first survivor race earlier this year at the Sydney Lunar Festival, winning all their races.
She also joined a team of other survivors at a recent regatta in Orange.
“I am very excited to be joining the Pendragons team again and look forward to meeting up with the ladies, sharing laughs and competing,” Dr Kirkby said.
