There are just three weeks remaining in Narrabri Netball Association’s 2022 mixed netball campaign, and for the senior divisions and the high school-aged competition, a playoff series will make up two of those.
Seven weeks’ worth of games were initially scheduled for those divisions, meaning senior teams would meet all teams in their respective pools once each, and all high school-aged comp teams would play against all other teams in their division once each.
The seventh and final round of the regular seasons will be contested at the Bev Burrows Courts this evening, and then the playoffs will begin on Thursday, December 8.
The high school-aged competition teams will be split into two pools for the playoffs, with the teams ranked first to fourth on the ladder going into pool one, and the teams ranked fifth to eighth going into pool two.
In week one of the playoffs, pool one matches will see first place take on fourth in one game and second place meet third in the other.
The winners of those matches will play off to be the pool one winners the following week, and the losers will also meet the following week to battle for third place.
In pool two, the teams ranked fifth and eighth will meet in week one, and the teams ranked sixth and seventh will also play against one another that evening.
Like pool one, the winners of those games will play off for first place in pool two the following week, while the losers will play off for third.
In the senior division, the teams from both pools will combine for a 14-team playoff series.
The format is as follows:
Week one (December 8):
Namoi first place v Kaputar second place (game one), Namoi second place v Kaputar first place (game two), Namoi third place v Kaputar fourth place (game three), Namoi fourth place v Kaputar third place (game four), Namoi fifth place v Kaputar sixth place (game five), Namoi sixth place v Kaputar fifth place (game six), Namoi seventh place v Kaputar seventh place (game seven).
