It was an occasion for celebration on Saturday – the graduation of students who have successfully completed their courses through Country Universities Centre North West.

Forty students have graduated, and 13 were present on the night to the applause of an audience of 83 family members and friends.

Toni Gale was the first student to study a course from start to finish using the CUC North West facilities, said CUC North West manager Cathy Walters.

The CUC is a major success and growing in strength.

Interest and engagement are high, particularly in the Narrabri community.

“CUC North West has 183 students currently registered, and 100 of those are in Narrabri,” said Mrs Walters.

“CUC North West has supported 440 students since we opened in July 2019.

“And there were 3567 visits to the centre this year.”

The CUC provides the opportunity for students – school leavers, mature age and everything in between – to study courses offered by universities across Australia. The CUC provides the study and support venue, and the results are reportedly higher than for students who undertake external studies at home.
