The snake population is enjoying the warmer days, and snakes are on the move. Narrabri’s ‘snake whisperers’, members of the VRA, have been busy responding to requests to move snakes from places they shouldn’t be. One, an Eastern Brown, startled a Maitland Street businessman on Saturday morning. “It was sunning itself on the path at our business and was ready to strike at me but fortunately slid off,” he said. The Eastern Brown is a particularly dangerous variety that is to be treated with extreme caution.
