Professor of politics and public policy at the University of Western Australia and Griffith universities, Peter van Onselen observes in The Australian newspaper that Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen projects ‘we need 20,000 new solar panels built every day for the next eight years, and 40 new wind turbines built every month over the same time frame, to meet the Labor government’s emission reduction target of 43 per cent.’ No worries, the panels will no doubt be made in China anyway.
