Narrabri and District Community Aid Service organised a fun-filled day with activities and a free lunch of pizza and ice cream at the NDCAS Youth Centre on Thursday, January 19.

The NDCAS team’s aim is to create a fun and safe place for youngsters to go during the school holidays, and they certainly achieved that with the Maitland Street premises filled with a hive of activity and chatter throughout the day.

The focus of NDCAS is to increase a sense of belonging and participation within the community amongst the younger fraternity in the district.

The planning for the ‘Pizza and Ice Cream Day’ got underway, and the youth centre opened its doors to high school aged students.

Pizzas from the Monterey Café were provided for lunch and an ice cream bar for afternoon tea.

The delighted attendees participated in various games including bingo, board games, craft activities, playing on the PlayStation, movies and air hockey.

The day followed the activity ‘The Lost Mummy’ Escape Room which was an introductory event for students entering into Year 7 in 2023, held on Thursday, January 12.

The day was a great success with nine teams participating in the popular game involving a series of problem-solving pursuits.

On Thursday, February 2, NDCAS have another fun-filled day planned.

High school age students can hang out at the youth centre and watch a movie or participate in one of the many activities available.

NDCAS said the three events were supported by Trans4m Rail.
