The 2023 Narrabri District Women’s Cricket Association season will begin this Saturday night.
Round one of the four-week season will be played at Collins Park and at Hogan Oval from about 7pm, with the games to start when the men’s games have concluded.
There are four teams this season, which will all play against one another once each across a three-week regular season ahead of the grand final, that will be played on Saturday, March 4.
The season will break on Saturday, February 11, for the Santos Festival of Rugby and will resume with round two on Saturday, February 18.
An alternate date for the grand final on Friday, March 10, has also been set aside in case of a washout.
This Saturday’s round one fixtures will see Nandewar Motel take on GFS Engineering at Collins Park while the Wahgunyah Dreamtime Mirri meets Wilga Hotel at Hogan Oval.
Matches will be contested under the T20 style format. They will be played on 18-metre long pitches and will use 142g two-piece balls.
The boundaries will be 40 metres from the centre of the pitch.
