David Dewar and Paul Crutcher are Narrabri Bowling Club’s 2022 season men’s pairs champions.

The duo won the final 25-11 at the John McNamara Owen Campey Green on Sunday when they took on Graham Rose and Tony Redman.

Dewar and Crutcher got off to a slow start in that contest. The score was 4-all after four ends, and then 7-all after eight ends, and then Rose and Redman led 11-10 on the 11th end.

However, Rose and Redman did not score another point as Dewar and Crutcher claimed the next seven ends to win the contest 25-11 on the 18th end.

Rose and Redman went into the weekend having already qualified for that game, but Crutcher and Dewar were forced to win their way through on Saturday.

They were too good for Trinity Kelly and Kevin Baguley in the semi-final that afternoon, winning 28 shots to five after playing 16 ends.

Mixed pairs matches were played on Saturday morning. David and Ronnie Dewar defeated Col and Dawn Armstrong 23-16, Ian Macmillan and Kay Carolan downed Janice Foxe and David Field 25-13, and Tony and Marie Redman beat Di Chessells and Scott Dewar 24-18.
