ADFAS Narrabri members travelled to Moree and were joined by Moree members and friends for an inaugural meeting and luncheon at the Moree Town and Country Club on Tuesday, February 28.
More than 30 guests enjoyed a delicious lunch and heard about the new season launch for ADFAS arts talks which begins on Monday, March 13 with UK lecturer Alan Read.
Moree patrons who attend ADFAS lectures in Narrabri have for the past two years appreciated the comfort and camaraderie of conducting the trip by coach, organised by the ADFAS committee and making for a stress-free journey.
The idea was originally thought of and carried out when the committee acknowledged that several carloads would regularly travel into Narrabri to attend ADFAS lectures.
It was decided at the start of the 2020 season to offer a coach service and alleviate the worry for patrons of driving back home at night on the highway.
As a gesture of goodwill to the loyalty and friendship of Moree attendees, the new season launch and luncheon was organised by treasurer Nanette Watson and Moree events coordinator Carolyn Humphries.
“We had a fabulous day in Moree”, said ADFAS chair Elizabeth Campbell.
“Our Moree friends are a very special part of the ADFAS community, and it was lovely to catch up with everyone before lectures start in March.
“I am sure we will be doing this again and making it an annual event.”
