Narrabri District Cricket Association’s 2022/23 season awards presentation event was held in the Collins Park grandstand on Saturday after the two grand finals had been abandoned due to wet weather.
A full list of the award winners is as follows:
Club championship – Narrabri RSL Cricket Club.
Junior cricketer of the year – Gabe O’Connor (RSL).
First grade under-21 player of the year – Bernard O’Connor (RSL).
Districts representative player of the year – Matt Conroy (Tourist Hotel).
Cricketer of the year – Sid Harvey (Tatts).
First grade awards:
Best and fairest – Jake Brayshaw (RSL).
Batting average – Nick Tomlinson (Tourist Hotel) with 168 runs at 28.
Batting aggregate – Nick Tomlinson (Tourist Hotel) and Bernard O’Connor (RSL) with 168 runs.
Bowling average – Cooper Brayshaw (RSL) with 15 wickets at 6.73.
Bowling aggregate – Nathan Trindall (RSL) with 16 wickets.
Most improved first grade player – Nick Tomlinson (Tourist Hotel).
Premiers – RSL.
Grand final player-of-the-match – Cooper Brayshaw (RSL) who took a game-best 4-16 from nine overs in the game’s first innings, which included two wicket-maidens.
Second grade awards:
Best and fairest – Mick Dowdell (RSL).
Batting aggregate – Mick Dowdell (RSL) with 256 runs.
Batting average – Chris Hartnett (Tatts) with 226 runs at 113.
Bowling aggregate – Mick Dowdell (RSL), Chris Hartnett (Tatts), Kaleb Mowle and Scott Smith (both Tourist Hotel) all with seven wickets.
Bowling average – Mick Dowdell (RSL) with seven wickets at 9.71.
Most improved second grade player – Mitchell Foster (Tourist Hotel).
