A photograph of lightning striking the ground near Mount Kaputar during Tuesday evening’s storm has gained national attention.
The image captured by Karen Bourke, of Narrabri, has been shared on television for all to see.
“I have been practising my storm photography,” Karen said.
“I have learnt some new techniques in the past 12 months.”
Storms in the past week have allowed ample opportunities for Karen to keep honing in on her storm photography skills.
In Narrabri, 38.4mm was recorded officially overnight on Tuesday and into Wednesday at the airport weather station.
Cracks of lightning could be heard across Narrabri as the storm passed over town.
Sunny days are forecast today, tomorrow and Saturday. Showers are possible on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
