It’s been 70 years since the Queen‘s coronation on June 2, 1953. Looking back through The Courier archives, Narrabri celebrated this occasion with a full community program including a mile long procession of 24 floats and many marching down Maitland Street to Collins Park. The day culminated in a Coronation Ball with a portion being broadcast from the event and relayed to the BBC in London. In coming editions of The Courier, archival material will be featured regarding the celebrations. In the meantime, The Courier would like to hear from anyone who remembers those celebrations or participated in them. Please call 6792 1011.
