Cotton picking is still underway in the North West, with the recent weather conditions favourable for harvest.

Farmers are currently looking for rain for winter planting and grazing but a silver lining of the clear and sunny skies means cotton harvest is full steam ahead.

It’s been a challenging season for many growers after the floods at the end of last year delayed and in some cases prevented planting, and cool conditions impacted crops.

However, seeing pickers trawling through the region’s paddocks – full of the glorious white fluffy fibre – is a positive outcome for hard working growers and the flow on effects for the community.
