Wee Waa High School’s bowls team was crowned 2023 Combined High Schools North West champions last week when they downed Inverell High School 24-2 on their home green.
On Thursday, Kyne Allen, Hunter Doring and Brock Allen lined up for the Wee Waa team at the Wee Waa Bowling Club and were out in front by 22 shots after nine ends before the rain arrived.
The match was called off early and the hosts were declared winners.
The Wee Waa High School boys have now qualified for the NSW state finals, which will be played in August.
The trio had a dominant run to the North West final. They sat out with a bye in the round of 16 and then won the quarter-final 47-0 over Lightning Ridge Central School in Lightning Ridge before prevailing 24-4 in the semi-final against Walcha Central School at South Tamworth Bowling Club.
All three boys are Wee Waa Bowling Club juniors who mix it with the best in the local competitions and have bright futures in the sport.
