More than a third of the members of the NSW House of Assembly and Legislative Council had their entry into politics as elected representatives on their local councils. Fifty members have come from local government backgrounds, with their experience of the rough and tumble of local politics no doubt standing them in good stead. It may be a good career aspiration for Narrabri Shire councillors as well.
