Significant dates in our history to be marked

Significant dates in Australia’s history will be marked at a ceremony at the Narrabri War Memorial on Friday.

The 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the annual remembrance of the World War II Victory in the Pacific and the 100th anniversary of Legacy Australia will be celebrated at a combined ceremony hosted by Narrabri RSL Sub- branch.

The proceedings will be led by RSL Sub-branch treasurer Sally Phelps, this year standing in for sub-branch president Gary Mason OAM.

The organisers have invited the community to participate in the ceremonies which will engage speakers from Narrabri school.

Organisers have asked people planning to attend to be at the memorial venue prior to the beginning of proceedings at 11am.
