Narrabri Fire and Rescue has had a busy few weeks responding to incidents across Narrabri.

At 3am on Friday, August 11, the station was called to a car fire on Genanagie Street.

Crews arrived to find a confirmed stolen dual cab ute fully engulfed by flames and quickly got to work extinguishing the fire with the high pressure hose reel and the power saw to gain access to the engine compartment.

At 11pm on Monday, August 14, Narrabri Fire and Rescue were called to a truck fire carrying hay on the Newell Highway towards Coonabarabran.

A joint operation between Fire and Rescue and Narrabri Rural Fire Service commenced trying to extinguish the trailer alight.

Multiple RFS vehicles were required for extra water.

Narrabri Police also attended this incident to assist.

The Newell Highway was closed in both directions for a period of time for firefighter safety until traffic control was set up.

At 3am on Friday, August 18, Narrabri Fire and Rescue were called to a car fire on Wilga Street.

Upon arrival, crews found a confirmed stolen dual cab ute fully engulfed by flames.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the area rendered safe by crew in breathing apparatus.

The scene was handed over to Narrabri Police for them to make further investigations.
