Galloping Gully Polocrosse Club hosted its 2023 carnival on Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13.
There were almost 200 players across 32 teams in action during the weekend, and the host club and their cross-town rivals Narrabri Polocrosse Club both excelled.
Gully were winners in the A-grade Open and B-grade Women divisions, while a Narrabri/Inverell combined team won F-grade Open and another Narrabri team was runners-up in that division.
Multiple players from both clubs also won individual awards.
Results are as follows:
F-grade Open:
Winners – Narrabri/Inverell, runners-up – Narrabri, best number one – Skye Manning, best number two – Mackenzie Van Goslinga, best number three – Torie Laurie.
E-grade Open:
Winners – Charleville, runners-up – Quambone, best number one – Hilary Balling, best number two – Harry Hagon, best number three – Lindsay Kennedy.
D-grade Open:
Warwick Hann trophy winners – Quirindi, best number one – Walter Greentree, best number two – Trent Mortimer, best number three – Jack Davis.
C-grade Open:
Oakvale shield winners – Inverell, runners-up – Quirindi, best number one – Ben Guest, best number two – Hannah Scoobie, best number three – Josh Woodward.
B-grade Open:
Bill Guest Couradda shield winners – Quirindi, runners-up – Bunnan, best number one – Chris Anderson, best number two – Brad Warmsley, best number three -Luke Saul.
B-grade Women:
Winners – Galloping Gully, runners-up – Muswellbrook, best number one – Bec Moore, best number two – Elyse Wallace, best number three – Emma Campbell.
A-grade Open:
Moplain Shield winners – Galloping Gully, runners-up – Quirindi, best number one – Clancy Knight, best number two – Geoff Hunter, best number three – Joe Melbourne.
A-grade Women:
