A renewed, revitalised and highly successful Nosh Narrabri has been welcomed back after the COVID hiatus.

The setting for the 2023 Nosh on Saturday was perfect – the Namoi riverside – a venue which offered much more than the previously also successful placement in the grounds of The Crossing Theatre.

There was plenty of room, shade aplenty from the bankside gums, room for picknickers on blankets, and a meandering pathway leading through the stalls and exhibits.

The community response to Nosh must have more than met organisers’ expectations – thousands thronged their way through the stalls and tents, eating, buying and socialising.

There was a significant number of visitors from out of the shire. Many locals met up with friends from Gunnedah, Moree, the western areas, Tamworth and much further afield.

The community owes a vote of thanks to the young and energetic Nosh committee, the enthusiasts who made it all happen.

The planning, staging and back end logistics of Nosh are huge, time consuming over the preceding months and detailed.

But the end result was a seamless event enjoyed by many.

Not only does Nosh provide entertainment and economic benefit to the wider local community, the food and drink fair projects the name of Narrabri across the state.

Exhibitors carry the message back to their home areas and visitors enthuse to their family and friends when they return home.

A testament to the value attached to Nosh by trade exhibitors is the fact that many are regular returnees and they are joined by newcomers who are sure to be back for the next Nosh.

The Nosh Long Lunch on Sunday was a great finale with almost 500 diners enjoying fine food and fun.
