A 32-year-old man was arrested following an incident at a Doyle Street property on Monday morning, September 18.
Police will allege the man poured an amount of liquid through the property and attempted to ignite the liquid.
Police said only light scorching resulted at the property as a result of the man’s attempt to set it on fire.
The man allegedly left the scene and was confronted by police a short time later.
A struggle ensued and police were assisted by Fire and Rescue in detaining the man.
The man was conveyed to Narrabri Police Station.
He was later charged by police with malicious damage by fire, attempted malicious damage by fire and three counts of assault police.
Bail was initially refused and the man was due to appear before Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday, September 19.
