The Narrabri Garden Club is hosting a one day Open Gardens event this Saturday, September 30.

This will be rare opportunity to celebrate our local gardeners and the wonderful time that is spring.

Garden Club members have always been very supportive of their community and this is an example by showcasing these gardens.

The 33a Selina Street garden is elegant and is ablaze with colour.

Joan Burrell-Melbourne and John Melbourne have brought all their skill and experience to this garden for all to enjoy.

Morning tea will be available, catered for by Narrabri Garden Club and VIEW Club will be selling raffle tickets for fabulous prizes.

The garden at 33b Gould Street is well-known for its awesome annual flood of colour from Vanessa Ryan’s clever planting of massed portulaca, which lights up the end of Gould Street.

Finally, a rare opportunity for to take pleasure in is the garden at St. Francis Xavier’s School in Nandewar Street.

It is a fabulous example of the dedication of staff and pupils with the concept of healthy eating, the pleasure of growing their own food and the practice of environmental awareness.

The community garden in Doyle Street is also worth visiting, which is a great community project at work.

Each open garden will be visible with balloons and steamers.

Olwyn Campey and Elizabeth Spicer with the prize View Club will be raffling at Joan Burrell-Melbourne’s on Saturday during the open garden.
