Narrabri District Junior Cricket Association’s 2023/24 season will begin on Saturday, October 8, and another action-packed and enjoyable season is planned.

Players have been training at the Cooma Oval nets each Tuesday and will do so again next week ahead of the first round.

There are four different age groups for players to take part in this year.

Two of those are Blasters programs for children aged 5-7-years old and 7-9-years old, and there are also 9-11-years and 12-15-years divisions.

Before Christmas, NDJCA’s Blasters cricket will be played each week on Friday evenings at Cooma Oval while the older players train at the nets.

The older age groups will then play at Cooma Oval on Saturday mornings.

After the Christmas and New Year break, all junior cricket will move over to Collins Park, Hogan Oval and Leitch Oval on Friday evenings.

Every child who signs up for junior cricket in Narrabri this season will receive a pair of blue NDJCA pants to go with the shirts they received last year. Those who did not play last year can purchase those shirts separately.

The 2023/24 rep season is expected to begin on Sunday, October 15, and more info regarding players, coaches and draws will be released soon.

Luke Baker is the NDJCA chairman again this season. The committee also includes Mick Dowdell (vice-chairman), Jess Dowdell, (secretary and publicity officer), and Tim Hayne, Matt McConnell, Sarah Ford, Mia Baker and Alecia Tubner.

Baker and Dowdell encouraged all young people in town to come down and give cricket a go.
