The Narrabri Bowling Club’s 2023/24 season men’s club pairs champions were crowned on Saturday afternoon as Kevin Baguley and Trinity Kelly reigned supreme at the club’s John McNamara Owen Campey Green.

The gun duo outscored their finals opponents Anthony Welchman and Bill Rosewarn 33 shots to four in a match played across 17 ends.

The dominant victory saw Baguley and Kelly reclaim the title that they last won in 2021.

Welchman and Rosewarn started this season’s decider on the front foot as they earned one shot on the first end, but Baguley and Kelly hit back as they claimed the next four ends while piling on 10 points to establish a nine-shot lead.

The score was 15-4 after 10 ends as Welchman and Rosewarn took three of the following five ends but were outscored five shots to three in the process.

From that point on, Baguley and Kelly did not drop another point as they went on a seven-end run that saw them score 18 shots and secure the 33-4 victory on the 17th end.

Kelly will be in action again this Saturday when the second men’s club singles semi-final is contested. He will challenge Scott Dewar in that match, with the winner to play the final in the afternoon against Dave Dewar.
