The Narrabri Show Society’s much-loved Spring Rose and Flower Show returns this year and is being held this weekend.

On Saturday, the auditorium at the Narrabri Bowling Club will be full of beautiful blooms.

One of the show’s organisers, Wendy McNair, said the show – a highlight on the district calendar – may boast a different offering, however, quality is expected to still be on show.

Mrs McNair thanked the bowling club for providing a venue for the show.

“It has been a different year this year. We had a bit of shower the other week and have had quite a bit of warmth,” she said.

Among the possible entrants is Joan Burrell-Mebourne, of Narrabri, a frequent flower show entrant.

While some blooms have been impacted by wind and heat, her extensive Selina Street garden still boasts some quality entries for this year’s display.

Entries will be accepted at the bowling club between 8am and 9am on Saturday as well as between 5pm and 8pm on Friday evening.

Judging will commence once entries are closed.

Mrs McNair said the show will open to the public from 10am and doors will close at 5pm.

The presentations will take place at 1pm.

“We are looking forward to seeing our usual supporters and welcoming some new ones,” Mrs McNair said.

“Visitors are most welcome to see the Spring Rose and Flower Show.”
