The Boggabri Court House was transformed into a wonderland with flowers, plants, Lego, needlework, knitting, crochet, and other craft, when the members of the Boggabri University of the Third Age (U3A) staged a flower and craft show on Saturday.
Boggabri U3A president, Sandra Jamieson praised the members for the beautiful display of flowers and craft and was thrilled to announce that the $700 raised on the day was donated to the Boggabri Hospital Auxiliary.
Anne Keys entered her collection of ‘Weeds’ and not only won first place in that section her arrangement took the eye of the Judge and she received the award for ‘Judges Choice’ of the show.
Sandra Jamieson entered 61 entries and won the most successful exhibitor award with a wonderful display of many different pot plants, flowers and craft.
“We had wonderful Lego creations from Henry Stone, Dougie Watson and Lokie Hobden and very pretty decorated saucers from Annie and Ollie Snape as well as Joey Lewellyn,” Adele O’Connell said.
A trading table and raffle proved popular with visitors after enjoying a delicious morning tea and catching up with friends.
Narrabri Garden Club members, Darrel and Jenni Hayne, Sue Waugh, Ruth White and Noeline Kiss made the trip to Boggabri and were high in praise of the Boggabri show.
The Narrabri club are looking forward to hosting their flower show this week.
