Boggabri Golf Club is only a small club, however, the local course hosts some of the best sand greens in the north west and is producing some very talented golfers.
To boost their numbers, the club held a free family ‘come and try day’ on Saturday.
The call was answered by 13 juniors and 12 seniors.
Tuition was on offer from PGA member Gary Begg, and if enthusiasm and numbers are any indication, the Boggabri Golf Club will be a thriving hive of activity very soon.
The junior players received an hour of tuition and the seniors one and half hours prior to a delicious barbecue lunch.
A combined team game was then held during the afternoon as those in attendance were given the chance to practice their newly-acquired skills.
A few current members turned up to support the newcomers and to also practise their skills to get ready for the Boggabri workplace challenge.
Everyone was a winner on the day with lots of laughter, new skills and free membership until January 2024.
Boggabri Golf Club wishes Gwen Hardy and Kathy Davis good golfing as the duo prepare for the Keno Let’s Play Ambrose State Final in Bonville later this month.
