Polishing off the rounds of a successful year for Narrabri VIEW club was a sumptuous luncheon fundraiser event held at the Narrabri Art & Craft workroom on Saturday, November 25.
A longtime advocate for the Smith Family, the club has been supporting a primary age student for the past two years.
The Smith Family Student Support is the only charity that View Clubs support across Australia, with equal education for all and the empowerment of women two core goals shared by the organisations.
Guest speaker Therese Alexander showcased some beautiful handmade jewellery and spoke of her inspirational grandmother, Noeline Bruce, who encouraged and developed Therese’s love of craft which later grew into a thriving small business.
Local resident Joan Griffith, recently returned from Nepal and wearing a beautiful traditional gown, also spoke to the guests and gave a fascinating presentation about her trip.
Special guests attending the event were ladies from Gunnedah VIEW Club, Area No.1 zone councillor and soon to be a national councillor Aletia Norman, national advisor Sally Cronberger and national councillor Elizabeth Henderson.
Aletia and Sally both gave updates from the national office of VIEW.
A fabulous buffet lunch was prepared by Kim Owens with many returning for second serves.
The idea of the luncheon was to enjoy an indulgent meal and raise money for a worthwhile cause.
The VIEW Club wish to thank all those who attended and contributed to the success of the fundraiser for the Smith Family, which turned out to be a very rainy day in Narrabri.
