Kelly-Lee Went, from Community Kids, Narrabri, has been recognised in G8 Education’s The National Standout Education awards for sustainability.

Ms Went was among six educators recognised in the NSE awards for their outstanding contribution to creating the foundations for learning for life at G8 Education’s more than 430 centres around the country.

Recognising that, every day, our educators make a positive difference in our centres, G8 Education created the NSE awards to recognise their excellence.

“These awards showcase the amazing contributions our team members make every day, bringing our organisation’s purpose to life – creating foundations for learning for life,’’ G8 Education chief executive officer Pejman Okhovat said.

“As I reflect on this year, and my time since joining G8, I am so incredibly proud of each of our regional finalists, as well as the national winners,’’ he said.

The judging panel said Ms Went was recognised for embedding sustainability into her practice and learning environments by establishing a bush school program, sustainability management plan and other projects with the centre’s children, team, and community. Ms Went promotes the use of natural resources and environments to support children in their play, learning, development, and well-being.
