The winners in The Courier and Wee Waa News ‘Have a Cracker of a Christmas – Shop with our superstars’ shop local promotion will share in $7000 in prizes when the winning entries are drawn at the Narrabri Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Street Carnival tonight at 7.30pm.
The draw will be held near the Maitland Street pedestrian crossing.
This year, 21 local businesses have joined in the promotion.
The $7000 worth of prizes will be in the form of shopping vouchers to be spent at participating stores.
The prize draw will be live streamed on The Courier’s Facebook page.
This year, there has been an unprecedented number of entries from local shoppers.
There is still time for last-minute entries, with ticket sales cut-off of 12 noon on Friday.
Tickets can be returned to any participating business, or to The Courier office at 60 Maitland Street, which closes at 5pm.
The draw will be overseen by The Courier’s managing director Wanda Dunnet and scrutineer Narrabri Chamber of Commerce president Russell Stewart and drawn by Santa Claus.
Prize winners will be individually notified as will the businesses which sold the winning tickets.
The businesses which sell winning tickets, from first to third prize, receive free advertisements to be published in The Courier.
For the winning ticket holders, the first three prizes are awarded as vouchers to spend at any business participating in the promotion.
First prize this year has increased to $3000, second prize is now $1500 and third prize is $750.
Prizes from fourth to tenth prize will each be a $250 voucher to spend at the business where the winning ticket was sold.
