The Courier was lucky enough to be a guest at the Narrabri Public School presentation awards ceremony for 2023.

It was a hot day of about 37 degrees, and while the proceedings were moved from the NPS to Narrabri High School’s Betty Berriman Hall to accommodate the heat, students didn’t break a sweat, with stellar musical performances from all year levels.

And there was as much going on backstage as there was on stage, with a rainbow of ribbons, giant sun props, and an impressive amount of self-control to not set off any party-poppers too early.

Each student accepting awards received excellent applause, and the NPS students held their own on the big kids’ high school stage, lighting it up with groundbreaking performances.

From Kindergarten’s rendition of The Wombat Wobble to Year 4’s Walking on Sunshine, to name a few.

And the hall was packed to the rafters, with parents, family, and friends coming to support their little ones and not-so-little ones, we know you wouldn’t miss it for the world, and we love to see it.

Well done NPS, for the very fun stories we’ve covered together, and a for a fantastic year.

To all the students, performers, and teachers, give yourselves a giant pat on the back and enjoy a well-deserved break.
