Young people attending the Nurruby Boggabri OOSH last week had a busy week.
Apart from the usual art and craft, Lego, painting, cubby houses – each day had a theme.
Monday, they spent time designing their trash fashion and the afternoon splashing about in the Boggabri pool.
Tuesday morning was a flurry of activity making their ‘trashion’ outfits for the afternoon show and afternoon tea.
The boys had so much fun modelling their outfits and made dramatic entrances onto the stage.
The girls were a bit shy and didn’t want photos but they had spent so much time on their outfits it was a shame that there were not more people there to see the parade.
Children were allowed to use old paintings, supermarket bags, hot glue guns, staples, Christmas paper, old t-shirts. CDs, cardboard, paint, string, shorts, stockings and much more out of the recycle bin.
Making music was the theme for Wednesday.
The children made an instrument from recycling, made a video clip and learn to play the clapsticks and listened to some catchy tunes and did craft and played sport during the afternoon.
Thursday is ‘everything S day where they played sock hockey, cooked a slice, painted with sand, salt or shaving cream and made a Shetland named ‘Sprinkles’, made sock puppets and finally sprinkler play.
