A delighted crowd attended the book launch of Narrabri resident Helen Dugdale with her debut publication titled ‘Put Insomnia to Sleep’ at the Tourist Hotel on Tuesday, January 30.
The evening included a two-course meal and a complimentary glass of champagne.
Former Narrabri resident and author Rhys Gard conducted an interview with Mrs Dugdale in the informal setting.
The audience were enthralled with the little teasers and snippets of information that help those suffering with the widespread condition – either trying to get to sleep, or waking up and lying awake in the middle of the night.
A large amount of research has gone into the compilation of the book.
Mrs Dugdale said that it was an important part of the process to demonstrate proven information and research results.
Mrs Dugdale already had many theories and answers of her own but needed to document backup research to support the ideas being conveyed to readers.
Mrs Dugdale was delighted with the success of the event.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, it felt as though everyone was having a good time, with a great feeling and welcoming atmosphere in the room.
“The feedback I received after the event was most encouraging with attendees showing great interest in the subject.
“The event was such a success there was talk among the crowd of how the community could stage similar events in the future, with locally based speakers interviewed on various topics in the informal and ambient setting that everyone enjoyed so much.”
