Narrabri Shire Council’s bulky waste collection service will again be offered in 2024.
The first of two scheduled collections will take place next week. Council offers two free scheduled bulky waste collections each year. This service helps households dispose of large items that cannot fit into the wheelie bins and unwanted materials such as mattresses and e-waste. This service is only for residents with kerbside collection pickups.
Bulky waste collection will be collected at any time during the weeks of March 18 to 22, 2024, and August 19 to 23, 2024.
On the weekend before collection starts, separate and stack items into four piles on the kerb in a safe location that does not restrict pedestrians. When possible, sort your items by type of material. Only two cubic metres of waste per household is permitted. No items should be added to existing piles after 6am on your scheduled general waste bin collection day.
Your bulky waste will be collected at any time during your scheduled general waste bin collection day.
Suitable items include general household waste, furniture and bedding, small whitegoods and appliances, and green waste.
Vehicle parts, demolition materials, rocks or soil, glass doors, windows and mirrors, containers filled or partially filled with liquid, hazardous or toxic waste, lawn clippings (belongs in green bin), fluorescent lights, gas bottles, tree stumps or thick branches (exceeding 250mm diameter) as well as recyclables (belongs in yellow bin) are unsuitable for bulky collection.
