A large birthday cake greeted Narrabri businessman John McDonald when he arrived for work on Wednesday.
The cake was to celebrate Mr McDonald’s 70th birthday and customers shared the celebration through the day.
Mr McDonald is one of Narrabri’s long established business operators – he has worked at the business for ‘over 50 years’ and is acknowledged as a leading clothing fashion retailer in NSW and well known in the industry.
McDonald’s Fashions was launched by John’s father the late Gordon McDonald when he came to Narrabri in September 1947.
Meanwhile, for John McDonald it was another day at the store – “I certainly have no thoughts of retiring,” he said.
