Red Cross is a national organisation of volunteers which has helped countless people in civil and wartime emergencies and times of hardship in Australia and overseas for more than a century.
Narrabri Red Cross is a long standing and valued contributor to the Australian community through its local members, past and present, who celebrated Red Cross’s 110th birthday with an anniversary lunch on Tuesday.
The lunch was a milestone occasion for Narrabri Red Cross which recently re-badged itself as Narrabri Red Cross Club, rather than branch.
Whatever the name, Narrabri Red Cross continues to serve the community.
“We all owe thanks to Red Cross,” said Narrabri Shire mayor Darrell Tiemens who presented the local organisation with a commemorative statement on behalf of the Narrabri Shire Council and the shire community.
“Red Cross is always there, a beacon of hope, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
“Thank you on behalf of the community for your tireless dedication. We recognise the many, many hours, days, months and years of voluntary service.”
