Cindy Neil is the Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s 2024 campaign club singles champion.

Neil defeated Eva Sadler 25 shots to 13 in the singles competition final on Saturday in a match played across 27 ends.

The score was 5-all on the seventh end before Cindy won five of the next seven ends to establish a comfortable 15-7 advantage. She then led 21-10 after 21 ends and went on to win the match 25-13.

The mixed fours semi-finals were played in the afternoon. Helen Woodward, Di Chessells, Lyn Tuckey and Dave Dewar beat Dawn Armstrong, Col Armstrong, Cindy Neil and Graham Rose 29-9, while Lyn Wedesweiler, Ron Ryan, Stuart Coleman and Eva Sadler outscored David Briggs, Janice Foxe, Steve Daskey and Richard Little 21-11.

In the losers’ section, a very close game was played as Kay Carolan (sub for Ronnie Dewar), Terry Wilson, Len Ryan and Tony Redman beat Marie Redman, Bruce Tomlinson (sub for Anthony Welchman), Bill Rosewarn and Lisa Pillar in a game that required an extra end to get a result.

The game was 11-all on the 13th end, 13-all on the 16th and 17-all on the 21st. Pillar’s team held three shots, with Tony Redman having one ball to play. He played with weight and removed Pillar’s team’s shot ball to win the game.

There will be no club games played this Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8, due to the NWBC’s ladies’ carnival being held.

Ladies’ club pairs games to be played on Thursday, September 12, are as follows:

Berice Eather and Ronnie Dewar v Glennis Godden and Kay Carolan; Rhonda Fitzgerald and Lyn Tuckey v Helen Woodward and Marie Redman.

Ladies’ club pairs games to be played on Saturday, September 14, are as follows:

Janice Foxe, and Di Chessells v Janet Coleman and Cecile; Eva Sadler and Lisa Pillar v Dawn Armstrong and Lyn Wedesweiler.

The final of the mixed fours will be played from 1pm on that Saturday. That will see the team of Lyn Wedesweiler, Ron Ryan and Stuart Coleman, Eva Sadler meet the team of Helen Woodward, Di Chessells, Lyn Tuckey and Dave Dewar.

In the losers section semi-final, Dawn Armstrong, Col Armstrong, Cindy Neil and Graham Rose will take on Carol Demamiel, Bec Taylor, Ian Macmillan and Scott Dewar.
