A man aged in his 20s was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle, following a motor vehicle accident on the Newell Highway, between Edgeroi and Narrabri.
Emergency services were tasked to the accident involving a car and a truck, near the Smithfield Lane intersection, on Thursday.
The car was towing a horse float at the time.
A woman, aged in her 20s, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Narrabri Hospital with minor injuries.
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for arm and leg injuries before being transported to Narrabri Airport to rendezvous with the helicopter’s critical care medical team.
The patient was further treated and stabilised before being flown to John Hunter Hospital.
The truck driver, who was treated at the scene, was believed to have suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.
