A cultural evening of Pacific Islands dancing, music, and haka performed by religious group ‘Crossroads 2421’ was enjoyed by an enthusiastic crowd at the Narrabri High School Betty
Berriman Hall on Saturday, September 28.
The group travelled from Melbourne for the Narrabri Schools’ Ministry fundraising event.
Narrabri Schools Ministry is an initiative of combined churches of Narrabri to support and encourage the young people of Narrabri to find their worth and value.
The group aims to support local school communities with the belief that a love of Jesus Christ is the foundation upon which young people can build their lives and receive fulfilment, joy, peace, and purpose.
The organisation funds ministry workers for the schools of Narrabri, particularly Narrabri High School and Narrabri West Public School.
It uses a variety of settings, such as religious education in primary schools and a lunch time group meeting in the high school’s ‘Living Room’.
The Living Room is a transportable building generously provided by the Narrabri community to provide a safe place where students can grow in character, values and understanding of the world.
The students who gravitate to the Living Room are often seeking out others who will appreciate who they are as individuals and are prepared to assist them on the journey of life, even if it is just for a moment.
