Narrabri businesses have once again garnered recognition and praise from the community at the Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce – Santos Business Awards.

This year’s gala dinner was the 18th awards presentation organised by the chamber. The awards night is a premier event in the local calendar that celebrates both large and small enterprises from across the district.

The Crossing Theatre hosted a full house of more than 300 attendees, all there to honour the achievements of our local businesses, with enthusiasm high as guests awaited the announcement of winners.

The strong number of nominations reflects the ongoing interest in the chamber’s initiative.

The community relies on small business and small business relies on big business. Both were recognised in this year’s awards.

Organising the business awards is a significant effort for the chamber, requiring meticulous planning, securing sponsorships, and coordinating a guest speaker/master-of-ceremonies.

Thanks to generous local sponsors, ticket prices were subsidised, making the celebration accessible across the business community.

This year, comedian Kat Davidson served as the guest speaker and master of ceremonies.

Chamber of commerce president Russell Stewart welcomed attendees by highlighting the chamber’s rich history and its continued advocacy for the local business community, marking nearly a century of continuous operation.

Mr Stewart congratulated the trophy winners and award nominees for their contributions to the community.

“You should be proud of yourselves to be recognised for what you do,” Mr Stewart said.

“Chamber is proud of all businesses and will continue to enthusiastically represent the community.”

“Narrabri chamber is your business chamber.”

Mr Stewart said it was great to see continued support for the evening, with tickets to the dinner selling out two weeks prior to the event.

“It is the biggest business gathering in the region,” Mr Stewart. “Our business awards are always exceptional value for money thanks to our sponsors.”

This year, Santos has continued as the naming rights sponsor of the event following Whitehaven Coal’s previous three-year role as the major sponsor.

Mr Stewart paid tribute to all businesses and organisations which continue to sponsors the awards.
