NRL grand final experience of a lifetime

The Courier’s NRL 2024 Business House Challenge winning tipster Daniel Hobden, for CL Dickinson Auto Electrics, and his wife Jordann enjoyed the grand final weekend, along with winning reader tipster Trevor Dean who invited his father Terry Dean to share the prize.

The prize for each of the winners included return flights for two from Tamworth to Sydney, two nights’ accommodation at the five star Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel and two diamond tickets to the grand final on Sunday, October 6.

As long term sponsors of the tipping competitions, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel generously provided the luxury accommodation while The Courier provided the flights and NRL grand final tickets.

Daniel said that he and Jordann “had an absolutely amazing weekend, the hotel was beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better game of football”.

He thanked The Courier on behalf of the proprietors of CL Dickinson, Cassie and Clayton Dickinson, for the effort put into the tipping competition and the prize.

Trevor Dean was enthusiastic in his praise of the weekend.

He said he and his father Terry had a fabulous time at the grand final.

“Having been at the grand final, which was phenomenal, I am going to take my wife Michelle next year – you have to be there to experience how unbelievable it is.

“Our seats were right on the try line about 12 rows back.”

As well as his and Terry’s team, the Panthers winning, a highlight was The Kid Laroi concert before the game.

“On entry everyone was given a wrist band. Flashing lights in different colours were activated automatically on the bands once The Kid Laroi concert started. When the stadium lights were turned off it was an amazing sight to see all the lights in the capacity crowd flashing across the stadium.

“The Radisson Blu Hotel was perfect. It is a great location and the staff really looked after us.”

The four thoroughly enjoyed each others’ company.

Both winners said they were still buzzing well after the event.

The Courier’s NRL Business House Challenge and Readers’ Tipping competitions will continue in 2025 for the 20th year. The Radisson Blu is again generously sponsoring the winners’ accommodation for two nights.
