The Creative Friends held a successful opening night of its 2024 exhibition titled ‘Once Again with my Friends’ at the Narrabri Art & Craft Gallery on Friday, October 18.
An appreciative crowd of around sixty art enthusiasts enjoyed viewing the talented works of our local art group, who get together on Thursdays to draw and paint in the convivial and supportive atmosphere of the Narrabri Art & Craft Society.
Delicious refreshments were served throughout the evening with heartwarming speeches delivered by gallery convenor Janice Smith, artist Robin Steiger with retiring Narrabri Shire Council manager of tourism and cultural services, Scott Pollock officially opening the exhibition.
Gallery convenor Ms Smith was delighted with the evening’s turnout and thanked the community for their support of the arts group.
“I thought the crowd brought a very happy vibe to the evening. I was kept busy and asked lots of questions about the gallery and especially the Creative Friends Art Group.
“We all commented that it was a splendid opening of the exhibition, and the group are forging ahead with their talents in various art mediums.”
The gallery will be open for a fortnight following the opening night, with opening hours from 10am to 2pm.
